![]() It's a terribly underrated movie (I hate that term, but I think it applies here) constantly slammed for what it isn't instead of evaluated for what it is. ![]() ![]() ![]() A mostly bitter bitter-sweet ending that they completely fucked over with the whole cloning thing in Resurrection. It didn't match the first two, but it's still a good movie with a great concept, and was a fitting send off for Ripley's character. The Assembly Cut gives a glimpse of what could've been, and it was even better, imo. I don't love the studio interference that compromised the whole shoot, but I think it speaks to Fincher's talent that even under those shitty conditions, he was able to deliver a good movie. I didn't love the offscreen deaths of Hicks and Newt, but neither was I so hung up on it that it destroyed the movie right off the bat. Charles Dance, Brian Glover, Pete Postlethwaite.they're all awesome. I think all the cast were great actually.love that most of the prisoners were Brit actors. I love Sigourney Weaver's performance in it, she's great. I love that a single Xenomorph is made threatening as hell again after seeing waves of them destroyed by marines in Aliens. I love the dirty, grimy, claustrophobic setting. I've always liked Alien 3, even the flawed theatrical cut.
